Rooted in faith, the program offers a unique recovery experience centered on the Fruits of the Spirit, fostering personal growth and spiritual renewal. Using the cohort model, women journey together in groups of twelve, beginning and completing their transformative 40-day stay as a united community, drawing strength from shared faith and mutual support. Aftercare support What does a typical day look like? A daily schedule at Selah House Recovery involves a structured routine that balances spiritual, educational and recreational activities. Can I bring a cell phone or computer? A no phone and computer policy is in place to foster a focused and distraction-free environment that supports your recovery journey. It promotes a safe, healing environment where you can remain fully engaged in your recovery and spiritual growth without external interruptions. Designated times are arranged for residents to maintain family contact. What is a cohort? Groups of twelve (12) women will start and end their 40-day stay at Selah House Recovery simultaneously. We maintain a wish list to help keep our house well-stocked and comfortable for our residents, and we are always in need of Bibles and books for both our residents and our library. Volunteers are always welcome, and, most importantly, we deeply appreciate your prayers. We have a tote labeled "book donations" on the front porch- you can drop them off anytime! If you have time to remove any stickers before drop off, thank you but it is not required. (Have you tried the blow dryer method?) You’re welcome, we just gave you a great excuse to go thrifting! If we do receive book donations we cannot use, please know we will be sure to donate them appropriately.     About Us Selah House Recovery is a Christ-First residential facility in Hudsonville, Michigan. At Selah House Recovery, you will find freedom from the chains of addiction and the guilt and shame that have kept you in bondage for so long. We believe addiction is a spiritual issue, and when addressed with Biblical truths, the love of Jesus Christ, and a healing community of Christian Women just like yourself, you will discover true freedom from any earthly cravings to fill yourself with a substance and instead desire to fill yourself with HIM and learn how to live a life of joy-filled recovery. We recognize that we cannot achieve sobriety in our own strength. Because God is the ultimate healer, we use the Bible as the foundation for our teaching and believe with all our hearts that in Jesus, the truth will set you free. Sherry Hoppen Executive Director Since November 6, 2013, Sherry Hoppen has been living in recovery from alcohol addiction. Drawing from her personal journey, she has devoted her life to guiding women toward freedom from addiction through faith. As an author, podcaster, and recovery coach, Sherry passionately inspires others through her ministry, She Surrenders, encouraging women to embrace hope, healing, and the joy that only Christ can provide in a life free from addiction. Her book, Sober Cycle: Pedaling Through Recovery One Day at a Time, chronicles her journey of triumph over alcohol dependency, with all proceeds directly supporting the mission of Selah House Recovery. Sherry and her husband, Craig, share a deep passion for bringing Selah House Recovery to life. Together, they envisioned a Christ-centered space where women can experience spiritual renewal and lasting recovery through faith and community. Committed to this mission, Sherry has devoted herself full-time to She Surrenders and Selah House Recovery. Learn more about Sherry Stephanie Hoppen Assistant Director Stephanie’s heart is to bring hope, restoration and healing for families in crisis. This mission is driven by her own powerful story of a life free from addiction and a desire to see lives transformed by the redemptive power of Christ. Stephanies aspires to see women fully empowered to reclaim their God-given roles within their families as the wives, mothers, daughters and sisters that were made to be. Stephanie is a proud wife to her high school sweetheart, Loren. They have been married since 2013 and have two children Landon and Levi. Both Stephanie and Loren were born and raised in Hudsonville and they are passionate about this community, both personally and professionally.
